Interconnection soldering method of PCB circuit board

Electronic components and electromechanical parts both have electrical contacts, and the electrical connection between two separate contacts is called interconnection. Electronic devices must be interconnected according to circuit schematics in order to achieve their intended functions.

A printed circuit board, as a component of the whole machine, generally cannot form an electronic product, and there must be external connection issues. Electrical connections are required between printed boards, between printed boards and external components, and between printed boards and equipment panels. Choosing the connection that best matches reliability, processability, and economy is one of the important aspects of printed circuit board design. There are many ways of external connection, and it is necessary to flexibly choose according to different characteristics.

Interconnection soldering method of circuit board

The advantages of this connection method are simplicity, low cost, high reliability, and can avoid faults caused by poor contact; The disadvantage is that interchangeability and maintenance are not convenient enough. This method is generally suitable for situations where the components have fewer external leads.

1. PCB wire soldering

This method does not require any connectors, just use wires to directly solder the external connection points on the PCB printed board to the components or other parts outside the board. For example, speakers and battery packs in radios.

When soldering the interconnection of circuit boards, attention should be paid to:

(1) The solder pads for soldering wires should be located as close as possible to the edge of the PCB printed board and arranged in a uniform size to facilitate soldering and maintenance.

(2) To improve the mechanical strength of wire connections and avoid pulling off solder pads or printed wires due to wire pulling, holes should be drilled near the solder joints on the PCB board, allowing the wires to pass through the through holes on the soldering surface of the board, and then inserted into the solder pad holes from the component surface for soldering.

(3) Arrange or tie the wires neatly, and fix them to the board with clips or other fasteners to prevent the wires from breaking due to movement.

2. PCB wiring soldering

The two PCB printed boards are connected by ribbon cables, which is reliable and less prone to connection errors, and the relative position of the two PCB printed boards is not limited.

Direct soldering between printed boards is commonly used for connecting two printed boards at a 90 degree angle. After connection, it becomes an integrated PCB printed board component.
